Warrenstreet Architects was
responsible for preparing a Master Plan for the Campus of Brewster
Academy, a secondary school located on the shores of Lake
Winnipesauke. The Campus had about 200,000 sq. ft. of buildings on
73.11 acres of land. Our academic needs assessment called for an
additional 65,485 sq. ft. of space and also made recommendations for
the acquisition of additional lands. The assessment work required a
survey of all of their present facilities and academic programs
through interviews and a series of questionnaires and faculty
meetings.
Facility surveys were accomplished
through measured drawings and analysis of all of the building usages
as well as computer generated spreadsheets codifying space usage by
department, and by building. Working closely with the School's
administration, recommendations were made as to land use, land
acquisition and disposition, building reuse, new facilities and
phasing. Additional recommendations were made for academic program
expansion and modification which became apparent through the master
planning process. A final report was prepared with full color
graphics, codification of all facilities and programs as well as an
easily understood executive summary. |
