Sherman Greiner Halle' Ltd was
retained by Donal Associates, Inc to assist in the planning and
permitting a 225,000 square foot, five building business park to be
known as the Corporate Center at Horseshoe Pond. The first building
to lead the way would be this 33,000 square foot building that would
become a corporate home of Aavid Thermolloy, a world leader in the
manufacturing and supply of heat sink technologies.
The design organizes itself along a central spine with vertical
stairways at each end. This spine penetrates the roof and
conveniently hides the rooftop mechanical equipment. The buildings
suse of materials reflect the mill structures that line the Route 93
corridor through Concord while incoporating the use of glass curtain
wall and aluminum extrusions to reflect the high tech nature of the
buildings occupant.
The design and permitting effort was coordinated in a record three
months, from conceptual design, approval of the tenant, and the
issuance of a building permit. An unprecedented effort for the City
of Concord.
